Control the Combustion of Fuel Sprays in Power Plants

The combustion process determines economic, technical, and environmental parameters of diesel engines, which depends on the injection pressure, the amount of injection fuel as well as the times of injection fuel in each cycle. This study presents an experiment to determine the characteristics of the high-pressure injection fuel system in the dependence of the duration and pressure in the rail line. The obtained properties are applied for CFD modeling to controls the combustion process of diesel engines in power plants. Results show that the combustion process of the engine is controlled when the fuel injection pressure, as well as, boost pressure are changed. The engine not only has higher power and efficiency, but also the amount of nitrogen oxides emissions decreases but the amount of carbon monoxide and hydrocarbon emissions increases as the fuel injection pressure, the boost pressure increase. Results obtained from the research are the basis for applying the engine.
