Near-field Scattering of a Ship Based on Equivalent Radiation Model of Antenna

A near-field shooting and bouncing ray based on physical-optics formulation (PO-SBR), which introduces the equivalent radiation model (ERM) composed of dipole array, is presented to analyze the scattering of electrically large target in near-field zone. By modelling the ERM, the radiation characteristics of antenna can be acquired rapidly and used to calculate the scattering of target under the antenna radiation. Compared with existing near-field computational electromagnetics (CEM) methods, the proposed one can be accurately and efficiently used to obtain the near-field scattering of target illuminated by actual antenna, especilly for electrically large target.
