Iterative Solution of EM Scattering Problems Using IEDG-DDM with CBFM-FACA

For the flexibility of meshing, this paper adopts the domain decomposition method (DDM) based on integral equation discontinuous Galerkin (IEDG). When the target is electrically large, the IEDG-DDM needs much memory, which prevents us from using it with limited computing resources. To mitigate this problem, the characteristic basis function method (CBFM) with the fast adaptive cross-approximation (FACA) algorithm is applied to reduce the consumption of storage and computing time of the IEDG-DDM. Numerical results show the superiority of the presented method.
