Algorithmic Analysis on Optimized PI Controller based 7-level Inverter

Nowadays, Multilevel inverters (MLI) are extensively deployed in high-voltage and high-power appliances. MLI produces more levels to obtain the preferred output voltage and they provides advantages like "improved output waveform, smaller passive filter size, lower Electro Magnetic Interference and reduced harmonics". Nevertheless, MLI also encompass a few drawbacks like high switching loss increased components and voltage balancing issues. This research work aims to establish an "optimized PI controller for 7-level inverter". Here, the PI controller gains are adjusted by deploying "Grey Optimizer with Dragon Levy Update (GD-LU) scheme" depending upon the working states of the system. In addition, the gains are tuned to reduce the error among reference and faulty signal. In this work, a parametric analysis is done to confirm the effectiveness of the proposed scheme.
