Nano Cylindrical Dielectric Resonator Antenna Using Titanium dioxide for Wi-Fi Applications

Communication technologies are developing at a rapid rate in the present world. Wireless networking technology or Wi-Fi technology allows modern devices to interface with the internet. Almost all the modern electrical equipment’s have inbuilt antennas which helps the device to connect with internet. The paper introduces a Cylindrical Dielectric Resonating Antenna (CDRA) constructed using rutile Titanium dioxide (TiO
2
) with Polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) as the binder which can in turn solve the limitations of bandwidth and radiation losses compared to the current patch antenna-based communication systems. The radius of the designed CDRA is 10 mm and has a thickness of 4 mm having an aspect ratio of 2.5. The antenna with the design specifications and proportions are fabricated and their characteristics are studied. The designed CDRA is analyzed mathematically and the reflection and VSWR characteristics are studied. The designed protype is validated both using simulation software ANSYS HFSS and are experimentally validated using Field fox Analyzer. These results validate that CDRA operates in the Wi-Fi band giving bandwidth of 4.9 GHz – 5.6 GHz.
