New Method for Optical Characteristic Control of Upper Prism Edge in Flow- Through Refractometer

The need to use a flow-through refractometer to state control of the flowing liquid in time is justified for conducting research, technological process automation, etc. The main negative factors influencing the error in measuring the refractive index n in a fluid are determined. A thin film (plaque) on the top edge of the prism was found to be one of the most significant of these factors, as this edge of the prism is in constant contact with the medium under research. A new method for controlling the top edge of the prism has been developed. It provides a method for removing plaque during the refractometer operation. Experimental results are presented.
