Strategies for optimizing energy consumption in buildings

The energy consumption in buildings sector is increasing and it is necessary to improve strategies to face climate change. This article presents an analysis of the most important optimization methods used in minimizing the energy consumption in buildings and, implicitly, the green gas emissions. These techniques also allow to study the performances of different renewable energy systems. In order to identify the future research, which is necessary in optimization building field, we will identify and compare the optimization methods that were studied in last years in buildings sector by presenting their strengths or weaknesses.
