A simple low profile microstrip antenna with isosceles triangular radiating patch for WLAN application

A simple and low profile microstrip patch antenna having isosceles triangular shaped radiating patch of (15, 15 and 10)mm sides has been designed in this work. The radiating patch is perturbed with a slot of optimum length and position. The designed antenna generates a resonant frequency band of 260MHz 4.9% and covers WLAN (5.15-5.25 GHz) and WLAN (5.275-5.375 GHz) application bands. The antenna generated broadside radiation pattern with highest gain of 3.5dB. Simulated and experimentally measured results are closely similar.
