Water Hammer Analysis on a Main Pipe

The current paper presents the behaviour simulation of a main existing pipe with a length of 125 km, and a nominal diameter of 1200 mm, which was rehabilitated on it's entire length using 3 technical solutions: pipe relining (no-digging solution, creating a new, tough pipe inside the existing one, promoting a better flow and sealing off cracks), CIPP (curred in place pipe - wich involves inserting and running a felt lining into a preexisting pipe that is the subject of repair. Resin within the liner is then exposed to a curing element to make it attach to the inner walls of the pipe. Once fully cured, the lining now acts as a new pipeline), or replacing the existing pipe with a new one, using open digging solution. Steady and unsteady simulation was done using a special softwares, such as Urbano Hydra (for steady motion), and Bentley Hammer v.10i (for unsteady motion).
