An FDTD Analysis of a Sensing Technique Based on Variation of Reflection Characteristics of an Antenna

This paper discusses detection of presence of a target near an antenna. In order to clarify the feasibility of the sensing technique, we analyzed the change of the frequency characteristics of the return loss in the presence or absence of the target object near the antenna. As the target object we assume human body and a sheet of paper. Numerical analysis using the FDTD method was performed. By the results, we confirmed detectable amount of change can be observed.
