Cesium Faraday Optical Filter for Wireless Optical Communication System

We report the newest experimental results of Cs-D
2
line 852 nm Faraday optical filters for wireless optical communication system. We measure the transmission spectrum of the Faraday optical filters with different temperature, magnetic field intensity, and with or without buffer gas. The Cs-852nm Faraday optical filters is based on atomic vapor cell, with the increase of magnetic field strength and the filling of buffer gas at a certain pressure. The bandwidth, transmittance and line shape of the transmission spectrum are changed obviously. The results can be used for free-space laser communications.
