Simulated experiments of rotor-stator interaction rubbing and sand ingestion fault based on aero-engine electrostatic sensor

A new test rig has been established to simulate rotor-stator interaction rubbing and sand ingestion fault based on aero-engine electrostatic sensor. The experimental results show that the greater the fore in rubbing interaction, the larger the charge amount of rubbing particles and the higher the heat carried by rubbing particles. The frequency domain analysis shows that the rotation frequency of rotor can be reflected clearly in the spectrum of rubbing particles’ electrostatic signal, which can be the indicator to distinguish rubbing particles and sand particles. The results are beneficial to the implementation of prognostics and health management in aero-engine based on electrostatic monitoring.
