Performance Evaluation of Physical Layer Network Coded Relay Channels with Joint CR-MC-NOMA

Due to the high demand for the bandwidth in the present wireless communication schemes, non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA) technique has been proposed and implemented to have a high quality of service and reliability. Cognitive radio inspired non-orthogonal multiple access (CR-NOMA) is a technique which is used in cooperative communication to access multiple nodes simultaneously with same frequency band, by prioritizing the nodes in the form of primary and secondary based on the user frequency allocation. Multi-carrier communication provides a better power control over the interference to achieve optimal performance in accessing networks with large number of nodes. Physical layer network coding (PNC) along with cooperative multi carrier (MC) communication improves the overall spectral efficiency of the multi-node networks, not only between a smaller number of users, but comparably for a larger user domain. In this study, the numerical throughput analysis for the equal and non-equal power assignments for the user pairs were evaluated for PNC coded relay channels employed with CR-MC-NOMA and it is proved that the proposed scheme outperforms the prevailing conventional orthogonal multiple access schemes.
