The Influence of Renewable Energy Ratio and Conversion Factors on the Energy Performance of Buildings

The paper presents an analysis of the influence of renewable energy ratio and primary energy conversion factors on the energy performance of buildings and the fulfillment of the nearly zero energy building (nZEB) criterion. A case study is provided with reference to individual residential buildings. Considering the recent liberalization of the electricity market for household consumers and the possibility of purchasing renewable energy from the competitive market, this analysis shows the need to take into account the renewable energy purchased from the national power system.
