Outdoor Lighting and time-variant communication

The temporal variation in lighting has not been thoroughly studied, even though there are works, either technical or artistic, that exploit this aspect. In this work, under the generalization of the outdoor lighting, two different time scales are considered; fast variations and seasonal differentiations. In the context of the first ones, the temporal variation is used both to provide extra information and point out the message. Specific case studies are used to illustrate cases for various applications of time-variant outdoor lighting.
