Experimental Studies of Effectiveness of Active Screening of the Magnetic Field by Single Compensation Winding

The problem of reducing of the magnetic field generated by overhead power lines by means of active screening is considered. For the first time experimental studies of active screening of the magnetic field generated by a three-phase single-circuit power transmission line with a horizontal arrangement of wires have been carried out. A system of active screening includes only one single compensation winding. Experimental studies of the effectiveness of shielding the magnetic field with open and closed control algorithm, as well as with different spatial arrangement of the magnetic field sensor, have been carried out. It has been experimentally confirmed the possibility of reducing the level of induction of initial magnetic field in a given zone by 3-5 times and in a limited area of the considered space by 15-20 times by system of active screening of a magnetic field with only one single compensation winding.
