The Prospects for Applying Auger Heat-Electromechanical Converters as Part of Multipurpose Mobile Robotic Platforms

As an alternative to existing approaches, a universal mobile robotic platform equipped with a auger heat-electromechanical converter is proposed. The proposed converter uses an external rotor-auger for rotary motion and an internal stationary shaft for sampling without soil rotation. The data obtained on the spatial distribution of magnetic induction and eddy current density in the active part of the auger heat-electromechanical converter are an important stage on the way to further numerical experiments, in particular, to perform a series of accurate postprocessor calculations to obtain mechanical characteristics. This, in turn, will contribute to development of auger converters optimal design for universal mobile robotic platforms, as well as a strategy for controlling their movement.
