Influence of the Initial Antenna Orientation on the Performance of Compressed Sensing-assisted Device Discovery

In this paper, the influence of the antenna on the accuracy of a compressed sensing-assisted device discovery for Terahertz communications is analyzed based on simulation data. The simulation environment and the scenarios are explained and the influence is evaluated considering different propagation scenarios as well as different antenna patterns and initial antenna orientations. Finally, the results show a dependency of the power angular profile with respect to the antenna pattern and the chosen initial orientation of the antenna. For the accuracy of the compressed sensing-assisted device discovery, scenarios with high angular spreads show the best performance.
