Mathematical Modeling and Parameter Estimation of a Coordinated Turbine-Boiler Controlled Steam Power Plant

This paper represents the mathematical modeling and parameter estimation of a steam power plant considering the turbine-boiler control strategy. The proposed model includes a steam turbine, governor system, boiler, and synchronous generator to simulate power plant behaviors in diverse operating points accurately. The obtained model contains several unknown parameters, which should be estimated through identification algorithms. To this aim, the identification tests were executed on a 150 MW steam power plant, and the unknown parameters are determined by applying a Genetic Algorithm (GA) to the recorded data. The validation tests indicate the high accuracy of the model and the estimated parameters.
