A Four-Phase 5 kW Interleaved Totem-Pole PFC Platform Based on SiC FETs and Controlled by SA4041 Digital Power Processor

A four-phase 5 kW totem-pole PFC platform based on SiC FETs and controlled by SA4041 digital power processor has been built and tested. Due to low switching losses of the SiC FETs and digital power processing, efficiency of99 % was obtained at 240 V input voltage and output power 2800 W. The efficiency is expected to rise at higher power levels. In the region when four phases are expected to work, THD is smaller than 2%. By increasing the output power, the THD parameter decreases. The power factor for power levels higher than 200 W is higher than 0.99.
