Synthetic Sound to Improve Safety Aspect of Electric Motorcycles

Nowadays, most people prefer riding motorcycle which has better gas mileage, more flexible in traffic, and more convenient compared to other transportation vehicles. Electric motorcycles indeed improve air quality, but one potential drawback is pedestrian safety. The electric motorcycle produces quiet sound that can cause risk to surrounding people. Synthetic sound maintains safe and comfortable for people and environment, but not causing noise pollution. The generated sound should satisfy the minimum sound requirements for electric motorcycles ranged from 49 dB to 66 dB, and not exceed the maximum permissible noise level ranged from 78 dB to 84 dB, which is considered as noise. This paper developed a comfort sound generator to generate artificial motor sound as comfort sound which is similar to the given original motor sound.
