Wireless Sensor Network for Monitoring Windmills at State Polytechnic of Malang

Currently, electricity demand has become the main commodity. One of the electricity supplies is still using Electric Stream Power Plant (PLTU) which requires limited coal fuel. Wind power as a new source of electricity is a renewable energy alternative to electrical energy, so it can be used as a long-term investment. In this study, we purpose prototype of the electrical energy monitoring tool from windmills using a dedicated of sensors that can monitor and retrieve data in a network as the Wireless Sensor Network (WSN). In this way, the parameters like voltage, windmill rotation speed and wind speed get real-time monitored easily on the webpage. If the results of monitoring these parameters are known, then the appropriate energy consumption and electrical load can be planned.
