Short-pulse breakdown of near-cathode sheath in the presence of a local magnetic field

The effect of a locally periodic magnetic field on the distribution of explosive emission erosion over the surface of a flat cathode as a result of the breakdown of the ion-matrix layer in a previously created plasma is investigated. The possibility of using the effect of a magnetic field in plasma-filled generators of low-energy high-current pulsed electron beams is estimated.
