Corrosion and Erosion Preventive Coatings for RF Sources and Liquid-Cooled Devices

. The proj ect is focused on addressing issues encountered with Naval ships operating with substandard coolants. Salts, oxygen, and particles in the coolant have caused catastrophic failure of RF sources and solenoids, leading to loss of critical defense systems. This program is developing technology to deposit a 30–50 nm coating inside cooling circuits that separates the coolant from the underlying metal surface, thereby preventing both corrosion and erosion.
