Development of a Ship Path Planning Simulator Based on Electronic Chart

To improve the ability of the crew to plan the path and use electronic chart in actual navigation, a ship path planning simulator based on electronic chart and C# and SQL Server communication is designed and implemented by using Visual Studio C#. On the basis of the secondary development of the existing marine electronic chart, this paper simulates the navigation path and navigation process of the ship by simulating the AIS and GPS signals based on the GPS NEMA-0183 protocol. The simulator has simple interaction, clear flow, wide coverage and strong expansibility, which provides a demonstration platform for crew training and greatly improves the security and accuracy of ship path planning. Taking a route from Laizhou Port of Yantai Port to Dagang Port of Dalian Port as an example, this paper explains the specific use method of this simulator.
