Mobile Application Design for Ambidextrous Training-Hand Switching

Looking back at history, very few people know that Albert Einstein was ambidextrous [12]. Ambidexterity (hand-switching) is the ability to use both hands with equal ease [15]. Few tasks require the use of alternative hands or fingers to do specific works. Using the non-dominant hand sometimes becomes a necessity. In case of an injury to the dominant hand, the non-dominant hand must be used for daily tasks. Hand switching training or the use of both hands can improve various skills related to motor operations [5], music [5], art, and many sports [4]. The paper discusses the process of designing a mobile application prototype for people desirous of training themselves to become ambidextrous. The Design Thinking method is used to understand the requirements and features for better user experience and interface design to help people train their non-dominant hand for daily tasks when required.
