Integration of EVs Aggregator with Microgrid and Impact of V2G Power on Peak Regulation

The dynamic control of Vehicle to Grid (V2G) power flow is associated with various issues such as unscheduled charging/discharging for xEVs integrated with Distributed energy generations (DEGs). This paper investigates a simulation approach to regulate 120 EVs charging/discharging occurs in certain cases. The prime objective of this paper is to maximize the utilization of the power from hybrid energy resources under different EVs profile. These resources include renewable energy-based subsystems (solar PV and wind plant), a diesel backup system, and an EVs aggregator subsystem. In this paper, the proposed EV aggregator unit is utilizing the hybrid renewable energy-based microgrid for active power flow control in a coordinated manner. Also, demonstrating the 24 hours MATLAB simulation study of peak power regulation with penetration of renewable energy generation and a diesel backup power plant to support the continuous active power flow with the effective operation for V2G-based microgrid. The simulation results analyzing the different cases to check voltage instability occurs at some instant. The proposed approach of scheduled V2G power is beneficial for the large number of EVs, where peak regulation occurs mainly and requirements of continuous V2G operation under power fluctuation on the distributed side.
