Influence of Doping with Silver on Photocatalytic Properties of Tin Dioxide

Mechano- and sonochemical doping of precipitated SnO
2
with silver have been studied. All obtained samples have been investigated using XRD, SEM and EDS, XPS, adsorption of nitrogen, TEM, UV-Vis spectroscopy. The doped samples have a developed porous structure, narrower band gap and stronger absorption of visible light and, as a consequence, high photocatalytic activity in the photodegradation of rhodamine B, safranin T and methyl orange under the action of visible light.
