Photoinduced Charge Transport in Conductive Metal Organic Frameworks

Conductive metal organic frameworks (MOFs) are a promising class of porous crystalline materials for photocatalytic applications. We report direct evidence of a charge transport (CT) mechanism in 2D Cu-THQ MOFs using a combination of terahertz (THz) and transient absorption spectroscopies. Zn
²⁺
ions were added to this MOF in order to understand their impact on CT, ultimately causing a decrease in conductivity. This work provides insight into the rational design of 2D MOFs for photoelectronic and photocatalytic applications.
