G-band Radiation source based on metamaterial structure and double sheet

In this paper, we propose a terahertz radiation source in G-band based on metamaterial (MTM) structure and double sheet beams. The slow wave structure (SWS) is designed and analyzed in the HFSS, and the S-parameter retrieval approach is used to retrieve the effective permittivity and permeability. Also, the electromagnetic properties of the MTM structure are analyzed. Furthermore, the beam-wave interaction process of a BWO with MTM structure and double sheet beams is simulated by a PIC code. The results show that the radiation source can generate 84.5W output power with the interaction efficiency of 7.7% at the frequency of 213GHz on the condition of the beam voltage of 73kV and total current of 15mA.
