Channel Measurements of 0.9-1.1 THz Wireless Links using VNA Extenders

The paper preliminarily examines the influence of ultra-broadband terahertz (THz) communication channels across 900 GHz (0.9 THz) to 1100 GHz (1.1 THz) frequency spectrum in manifold scenarios. The channel measurements employing identical diagonal horns (WM-250) at both ends are firstly accomplished for 1000λ, 1500λ and 2000λ separation distances - λ specified for center frequency. Proceeding further, 5mm-, 10mm-and 20mm-acrylic plates are introduced midway to achieve a distant look through in this THz-VNA bistatic setup. Next, the ground reflections are investigated by interchanging aluminum plate and wood. Lastly, ray-tracing misalignment simulations are conducted with the same CST MWS designed horns to elaborate these measurement investigations.
