Therefore, a redundant sensor set is used to provide a high robustness and fulfill safety requirements [1]. In addition to camera and lidar, radar sensors play a key role due to their ability to directly measure the radial velocity of an object via the Doppler effect and their robustness in adverse weather conditions [2]. This allows both relevant objects to be detected and tracked over time, contributing to the general understanding of the prevailing situation [3].
