Energy Transfer and Tuning of Photoluminescence in the BaMgAl10O17: Cr3+ Eu2+ Phosphor

In this work, the BaMgAl10O17: Cr³⁺, Eu²⁺ phosphor was successfully obtained via solid state reaction, showing efficient energy transfer between Cr³⁺ and Eu²⁺ with the energy transfer efficiency (ηT) maximal value of 30.3%. The optimal phosphors show excellent thermal stability (I423K/I298K=55.73%) Adding the Eu²⁺ improved the absorption in the ultraviolet region of Cr³⁺ and enhancing the NIR emission intensity of BAM: Cr³⁺ phosphors by energy transfer, which is expected to be applied to silicon substrate solar cell.
