Organic Thin Film Transistors: Device Architecture, Material Selection and Modelling

This paper presents in depth about organic thin film transistors (OTFTs) in terms of key figures of merit and its advantage over amorphous silicon. Different geometries and the commonly used architectures of OTFT are discussed. The change in energy level (HOMO, LUMO) of OTFT on varying the gate source voltage is observed. In depth analysis of properties of OTFTs is done to conclude the necessary and desirable properties. Techniques like Technology Design Modelling and Circuit Design Modelling are exploited to model OTFTs. Simulation using LTSpice XVII tool to compute transfer characteristic, drain characteristics and transconductance of the OTFT circuit are reported in this paper.
