Design of ECG Signal Detection Circuit Based on Pacing Pulse Suppression

When collecting the Electrocardiogram (ECG) signal of patients with pacemakers, the pulse signal from the pacemaker in the mixed-signal will cause interference and affect the accuracy of the ECG signal detection. In order to reduce the influence of the pacing signal in the acquisition process and ensure the accuracy of the patients' ECG signals, an ECG signal detection circuit based on pacing pulse suppression was designed. Firstly, the ECG signal is collected by connecting the ECG lead of the detection device to the patient's body and then let the signal pass through the designed pacing signal suppression circuit. When the pacing signal is detected, the fourth-order Butterworth low-pass filter circuit formed by connecting two second-order low-pass filter circuits is used to filter the pacing signal. Finally, the processed ECG signal without pacing signal is amplified and output to suppress pacing and obtain a pure ECG signal. The Multisim circuit simulation software verifies the functions of the designed circuit to suppress pacing signals and restore the ECG signals to provide medical staff with more accurate patient data.
