Ecological network analysis of electricity-carbon-economic nexus system

Electricity, carbon dioxide, and economy have formed electricity-carbon-economic nexus due to production and consumption activity in the socio-economic system. This study used the ecological network analysis method to analyze the consumption-side electricity-related embodied carbon emission system (CERS), and conducted the network utility analysis, network control analysis, and robustness analysis from a system perspective. The results show that the competition relation among nodes occupies a dominant position in CERS. Inner Mongolia makes the greatest contribution to the amount of carbon flux in CERS. The robustness of CERS is 0.34, which has some redundancy. This study aims to reveal the internal structure of the CERS, the interaction among nodes, and the impact of nodes on the system from a system perspective, and to provide scientific basis and theoretical guidance for the carbon emission reduction in the socio-economic system.
