Self-Contained Power Station Based on Asynchronous Electrical Generator with Short Circuit Rotor Winding and Low Power Frequency Converter

The paper considers the construction of a self-contained power station (SCPS), based on an asynchronous generator with a short-circuited rotor and a low-power voltage inverter that provides high-quality output voltage under various loads, including significantly non-symmetrical and nonlinear ones, at a relatively low price and increased reliability. The block-diagrams of the SCPS and its control system without a speed sensor on the generator shaft are presented, as well as the results of modeling in symmetric and asymmetric operating modes, including the mode of blocking power switches of the voltage inverter. SCPS provides an error of output voltage stabilization of no more than 0.5% at maximum load asymmetry, correction of output voltage asymmetry using an original search compensation algorithm, reliable protection against overloads, short circuits and overvoltage using power switches blocking mode of the inverter. In blocking the inverter state SCPS smoothly moves to the mode of an unstable voltage source when the load is within the nominal and to the mode of maintaining the output current at an acceptable level during short circuits and overloads.
