Towards a wireless energy autonomous IoT module with a self-adaptable data diet

This paper describes a proof of concept of an Internet of Things (IoT) module, with wireless communication, sensing and energy harvesting capabilities. A self-adaptable power approach for balancing energy consumption and generation is also discussed, in view of a modular architecture for the system. Some preliminary results are shown pointing out bottlenecks and possibilities for improvements, considering the constraints in size, energy and communication of IoT technologies.
