Improving In-vivo Imaging Accuracy by Using Capsule Sound Source

Organs are distributed in the human abdomen complicatedly, so that it is difficult to obtain a clear abdominal image by ultrasound echo especially deep inside the body. In this study, we propose an ultrasound in-vivo imaging method that compensates for acoustic heterogeneity in the body by locating a swallowable small capsule sound source around the organ. In the proposed method, it is expected that the imaging accuracy in the deep part of the body will be improved by measuring for a long time. In this paper, numerical simulations were conducted to verify the effectiveness of the proposed method. As a result, it was confirmed that the imaging accuracy of the reflector outlines reconstruction was improved using the capsule sound source.
