Stress Detection: A Predictive Analysis

One of the unavoidable consequences of today's fast lifestyle is work pressure and excessive mental stress. This is eventually leading to fatal consequences since people are comparatively reluctant to accept the severity of the disease, often being unaware of its symptoms. This paper suggests a non-invasive system to track your stress levels and alerts in advance if any such trend is noticed. The three symptoms forming the base of the research are tendency of the person to be “scared” or “sad”, tendency of drowsiness due to lack of sleep and an alarming increased heart rate at difficult situations. Stress level and aspect ratio parameters are detected from video processing and real-time heart rate values are plotted to implement the same. The system was successfully found to detect these trends and hence can be considered for stress detection function. Heart rate, being one of the immediate parameters indicating stress, its value is also stored in cloud for trend observation.
