A brief analysis of the major concerns in the engineering application of rat system to UAS

The lifting and traction of uav specifications has created an urgent demand for airborne emergency energy system. Ram air turbine (RAT) system has the advantages of high reliability, light weight, small size and long working time, and is highly compatible with the emergency energy demand of uav. By comparing the major differences between the implementation of RAT system on uavs and manned aircraft, this paper analyzes the links prone to problems in the engineering practice, proposes the main concerns in the whole r&d cycle from design and development to product verification, and provides appropriate solutions. It can be used as a reference for the implementation of RAT system on unmanned aerial vehicles, and has certain application value for RAT system design and verification.
