Power-Flow Analysis of Shiroro-Jebba-Oshogbo 330-kV Transmission Network Cluster

There is no doubt that maintenance, control, and supervision of both voltage control and reactive power/Q(MVar) account for the significant segment of the difficulty being battled by the energy/power sector. Therefore, this paper/research's focal point is on the Nigerian 330kV Transmission Network, extracting and administering MATLAB/SIMULINK software to model and analyse the power flow of Shiroro-Jebba-Oshogbo failover cluster, to ascertain its stability using steady-state and dynamic characteristics. Definitely, in order to increase the customer base and improve power transmission rate without the requisite to enlarge power networks, it's of utmost importance to curtail reactive power/Q(MVar). Based on the results attained, bus voltages were minimal at Jebba(Bus 2) and Bus 3(Oshogbo) under three-phase to ground results at Bus 2 with values 0.00per unit(p.u) and 0.21per unit(p.u). Likewise, the dynamic state simulation results showed high Reactive Power Q(MVar) at Bus 2(Jebba) and Bus 3(Oshogbo) at various fault scenarios. Therefore, this paper opined that it's unreservedly indispensable to implement capacitive shunt compensation due to its supremacy and Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition(SCADA) at generation, transmission, and distribution stations. Assuredly, this yield an increase in bus voltage and improve reactive power.
