Influence of wind thermal power capacity ratio on transient stability of AC / DC transmission system

The hybrid transmission method of wind-thermal-bundled via AC and DC power transmission not only increases the capacity of external transmission but also enhances the flexibility and control of long-distance power transmission, which fully reflects the respective advantages of AC and DC power transmission systems. Due to the volatility and unique control methods of wind power, the integration of large-scale wind power into the AC/DC hybrid transmission system will adversely affect the transient stability of the system. In order to ensure the transient stability of the hybrid transmission system after the integration of wind power, it is necessary to conduct in-depth research on the ratio of wind and heat capacity. The model and theoretical derivation of the hybrid system of wind-thermal-bundled via AC/DC delivery established in this paper qualitatively summarizes the influence of wind power connection on system transient stability, and uses software of PSAT to build a system model for simulation experiments. The results verify the rationality of the summarized rules, and lay a foundation for using the wind-thermal-bundled capacity ratio to improve the system damping ratio and weaken the influence of wind power integration on the transient stability of the hybrid system.
