Observer-based reconstruction for smart grid cyber attack detection

This paper presents a cyber state attack detection method based on sliding mode observer for cyber-physical power system(CPPS). Firstly, a mathematical model of physical system is established. Secondly, an attack estimation signal is generated by an arc tangent sliding mode observer. Meantime, in order to ensure the success of attack reconstrcution, a proof of error stability is given. Next, the attack signal is compared with a threshold to determine whether there is an attack in the system. Finally, to illustrate the feasibility of this solution, simulation results of attack detection based on classical physical power system are given.
