The Antecedent Factors of Green IT

Green IT thrives in industries that focus on environmental sustainability. However, currently green IT is starting to be implemented in the industry in general, so it is necessary to explain the concepts and indicators that explain green IT. Based on the phenomenon of green IT, this study aims to examine the antecedents of green IT and their impact on competitive advantage. The research was conducted through a survey of companies that focus on environmental sustainability in Indonesia. Data from companies is taken quantitatively through a questionnaire with a focus on examining green IT and competitive advantage. The results of the study found that there are several factors that can be used as measurements for green IT including procurement policy, storage consolidation, storage virtualization, server virtualization, managing electronic waste policy, and measuring the environmental impact. The implementation of green IT has a good relationship in supporting the achievement of the company's competitive advantage. Findings from the research can be used as information for companies in implementing green IT.
