A Novel Impedance Matching Approach with Oblique Waveguide for Arbitary Rectangular Waveguide Devices

A numerical model of generalized scattering matrix for the H-plane oblique waveguide is established in this paper, based on the mode matching method and the scattering matrix cascade principle of microwave network. And the impedance matching characteristics of the H-plane oblique waveguide are described detailedly. Besides, an optimum design method and procedures of the oblique waveguide utilizing to match a rectangular waveguide device is proposed. As an application example, we adopt this method and the oblique waveguide to design a waveguide H-T 3dB power divider. The result shows that the improved 3dB power divider has high transmission efficiency and low field enhancement effect. Therefore, the oblique waveguide has great potential in matching the high power rectangular waveguide devices.
