A Wide-Beamwidth Differentially-Fed Filter Antenna for Ultra-wideband Applications

A wide-beamwidth differentially-fed filter antenna for ultra-wideband (UWB) communications is presented. The proposed antenna includes two parts: a radiating structure in the upper substrate and a differential feeding structure in the lower one. The antenna profile is 0.06$\lambda_{0}$ (where $\lambda_{0}$ is the initial wavelength). Simulation results verify that the antenna has a bandwidth of 6.36-8.57 GHz and its gain is 5.1 ± 1.2 dBi.
