The Using of “Sipejar” to Support the Online Teaching-Learning Process in College Based on Gender, Year of Study, and Department

Many universities develop application systems to support an effective teaching-learning process. One of the application systems developed is “Sipejar” (learning information system). Due to the pandemic of Covid 19, the process of learning and teaching is mostly done online, so that the use of the Sipejar is increasingly being carried out. However, until now, how to use the application system, has not been studied deeply. What variables affect the intensity of using the application is still a question. Therefore, it is needed to study this problem. The purpose of this study was to describe the use of “Sipejar” in online instruction, and to test the effect of the gender, study year, and department on the intensity of use of the Sipejar Application. The research was conducted at the State University of Malang using a survey research design. The data collection technique used a questionnaire with a sample of 82 students taken through random sampling. The data analysis technique used descriptive statistics, analysis of variance, and qualitative data analysis techniques. The results indicated that students used various “Sipejar” techniques in online learning. There is no significant difference in the frequency of using “Sipejar” by gender, but there is a significant difference in terms of study years, and department.
