To pursue a Ph.D. or work for a data company—What about doing both?

First, we would like to introduce ourselves. We are two young engineers, Léo and Madalina, in our early 20s and 30s, respectively, and we both made the same strange choice: we started a Ph.D. degree in data science while working in the private sector. We work for Eura Nova, a Brussels-based company that specializes in cutting-edge IT technology, which is dedicated to helping medium and large enterprises master their digital shift with a privately owned R&D center and elegant consultancy.
