Research on Indoor Location Technology based on the Fusion of WiFi and PDR

With the development of indoor positioning technology, more and more applications need to use this technology to improve the positioning accuracy. Therefore, the improvement of indoor positioning accuracy has become a concern in this field. Aiming at the problem of indoor location, this paper proposes a location model based on the extended Kalman filter (EKF) algorithm of WiFi and PDR fusion. The model abandons the shortcomings of WiFi location and PDR positioning, improves the stability of WiFi Positioning and reduces the cumulative error of PDR positioning. Through experiments, it is concluded that the fusion method is more accurate than the simple WiFi based location and pedestrian dead reckoning location. The positioning accuracy is about 10% to 20% higher than that of WiFi and PDR. This method can provide ideas for some applications based on indoor location.
